The Yellow Paper

Sometimes we just do something without even knowing why we do it. I had saved a letter dated 1994 and I happen to find it when I went home this time. The surprising fact is that, since the time the letter was written, we have shifted 5 houses in three different areas and it has still survived. It was in a well ornamented, yellow beaded purse which must be equally old, with the other things I had been saving up for years.

It was written by two of my best friends during school days and with whom I have struggled to keep in touch (Let me call them “The Mother(TM)” and “Tall One(TO)”. )
I have to say struggled because though they were best friends themselves, neither of them took the initiative to keep in touch with each other but I did. Trust me dears... I think I am cherishing the letter just because I am still in touch with them. Though priorities have changed, in spite of thousands of people who have come and gone, the memories of the days we had spent with each other are still fresh in my mind. The funny part is that I still dream about them – and in my dreams I do study/ work/ play with them.

OK here is the story behind this yellow piece of paper...
I have always been a possessive kind though wouldn’t accept it all the times... TM was a little popular in school and she was well liked by an ENEMY Anu.. Obviously I didn’t like her. So myself and “TO” conspired and stopped talking to "TM". But days passed by and weeks passed by too. .... TM wasn’t the kind who was bothered. I think I wasn’t too. Even if I had been so, as usual was too egoistic to do anything. But TO was the sweetest type. TO and myself used to live in the same location and we met in the Bus stop one day morning and decided to give this letter to TM.

But fortunately the letter had neither of the fates. It came back all safe and sound to me with TM’s response behind for me to write about it a decade later...

Well.... the way we cried in Guides class after we got together is a different story......

P.S Update - TM and TO its my blog so I have every right to write my version :)
